Iraq pledges to collaborate with world community to stabilize region, combat terrorism


(MENAFN) On Sunday, Jun. 6 Iraq’s President Barham Salih stated that his country is collaborating with the world community to stabilize the region by fighting terrorism and aggression as mutual global challenges.

A report released by the presidency's media office noted that Salih shared the remarks in his assembly with Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod, who is paying a visit to Baghdad for negotiations to reinforce bilateral relations and talk about the international attempt to confront terrorism.

The report added: "Iraq is working with its brothers and friends in the international community to ease tensions and defuse crises to enhance regional and international security."

A report by al-Kadhimi's media office stated that Kofod also convened with Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi to talk about the bilateral collaboration in fighting the extremist Islamic State, establishing security institutions, investing in diverse economic fields, and controlling the coronavirus pandemic.
