Royal directives: JAF to establish a new military field hospital in Gaza Strip

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — Upon directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti instructed the Directorate of Housing Establishment and Military Works, in coordination with the Jordanian Royal Medical Services, to immediately start equipping a new military field hospital in the Gaza Strip, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Huneiti also instructed that the hospital has the highest medical specifications, similar to the hospitals that were established in the cities of Zarqa and Irbid, to support the medical efforts of the Jordanian military field hospital due to the current conditions in the Gaza Strip, which claimed hundreds of lives and left many injured.

The hospital will include 100 beds, an emergency department, major, medium and small operation rooms, and medical staff to provide medical and therapeutic services, conduct surgeries and provide necessary healthcare services.

Equipping this hospital comes from the noble humanitarian role that the JAF plays by operating field hospitals and surgical stations in many countries reeling under humanitarian or natural disasters, providing vital aid.

The JAF, on Monday, backed the Jordanian field hospital in the Gaza Strip with an additional mobile field hospital equipped with all needed medical equipment and personnel.
