Israel sets new heavy raids in Gaza Strip


(MENAFN)Israel had done new heavy airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, stating that they damaged militant tunnels and homes of nine Hamas officials. The overnight air attacks targeted the Hamas "Metro" tunnel system in the northern Gaza Strip. In the raid, 54 Israeli warplanes hit some 35 supposed terror targets and 15 km of the tunnel system, according to a statement. It further declared that "This strike is part of the IDF's (Israel Defense Forces) significant operation against the underground terror infrastructure in the Gaza Strip." The army declared that separate overnight round of raids; Israeli warplanes and aircraft destroyed nine homes of senior Hamas commander, adding that "The residences that were struck were used as terror infrastructure. Some of the residences were used to store weapons."
