Indonesia: 9 missing persons in boat accident confirmed killed


(MENAFN) On Monday, May. 17 local officials stated that the nine missing people in a boat accident in the Kedung Ombo Reservoir in Boyolali district, the Indonesian Central Java province, have been confirmed killed.

Kurniawan Fajar Prasetyo, head of the emergency section at the Boyolali Disaster Management Agency, noted that the nine victims were spotted after a search and rescue group was able to recover the last two victims who were recognized on Sunday night and on Monday morning each.

Prasetyo noted as cited by Antara news agency that the last two victims have been moved to two local hospitals for more identification.

A boat with 20 local tourists on board was reported to overturn in the reservoir on Saturday at approximately 11 a.m. local time.
