Organization of Islamic Cooperation to seek UN General Assembly to save Palestinian people

(MENAFN)The 57-member Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is going to request the UN General Assembly to save the Palestinian people as the UN Security Council did not succeed to assume its responsibility to end the attacks on Gaza.

The OIC extraordinary assembly at the level of the foreign ministers was held online under the request of Saudi Arabia.

According to a statement in the assembly, “The UN Security Council’s failure to stop the Israeli aggression will necessitate approaching the UN General Assembly to assume its responsibility, including the resumption of the proceedings of the Tenth Emergency Special Session to stop Israeli aggression in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.”

The statement called on the international community to save the Palestinian people and declared that "the time has come to take serious measures to hold Israel accountable for its gross violations”.
