Chinese home prices marginally rise in April


(MENAFN) On Monday, May. 17 official figures demonstrated that China kept witnessing a generally steady housing market last month, with home prices in 70 key cities demonstrating moderate monthly rises.

Figures from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed that new home prices in four first-tier cities -- Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou -- climbed 0.6 percent monthly in April, in comparison with a 0.4-percent rise recorded in the previous month.

An overall of 31 second-tier cities witnessed a monthly climb of 0.6 percent in new home prices, whereas 35 third-tier cities saw a monthly climb of 0.4 percent in new home prices in April.

The resale home market in first-tier cities witnessed prices rise 0.8 percent monthly in April, declining 0.2 percentage points from March.
