QU announces dates for graduation ceremonies for Class of 2020 female students


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Qatar University (QU) has announced the dates for its individual college graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2020 female students. 

The ceremonies will be held at the QU Sports and Events Complex in the mornings and evenings starting May 31 to June 5, 2021. 

The graduation ceremonies will be streamed live on the QU YouTube Channel. The graduates will be received by their respective deans in the presence of a guest of honour and organisers. All necessary safety and precautionary measures approved by the state will be implemented to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

 The QU graduation ceremony is an annual tradition since its inception in 1977, celebrating students with bachelor and postgraduate degrees. 

The graduates typically complete the final step in their university journey in the presence of QU President Dr. Hassan Rashid Al Derham, university Vice Presidents and officials, faculty, alumni, and their family, in addition to VIP guests. Due to the pandemic, this year’s attendance will be limited to only graduates and organisers. 

This year’s graduating class includes students from a full academic year that encompasses Fall 2019, Winter 2020, Spring 2020, and Summer 2020. The College of Business and Economics (Graduate Studies, Majors of Management and Marketing+ Management and Information Systems) would have their graduation on May 31 at 5pm.

The second group from the College with majors in Accounts, Economics, and Finance will have theirs on June 1 at 10am. Also, the College of Education’s graduation is scheduled for June 1 at 5pm.

The College of Sharia & Islamic Studies and College of Law will hold their graduation at 10am on June 2, while the Colleges of Engineering, Health Sciences, and Pharmacy will have theirs on June 2 at 5pm.

Besides, the ceremony for the first batch of the College of Arts & Sciences (Graduate Studies and majors of Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Sciences,  Sport Science, English Literature & Linguistics and Arabic) will be held on June 3 at 10 am. The second batch (majors of History, Sociology, Social Work and Psychology) will be held at 5pm on the same day.

The third group of the College of Arts & Sciences (majors of Mass Communications, International Affairs, Policy, Planning & Development) is scheduled for June 5 at 10am.
