(MENAFN)An energy firm responsible for about one quarter of Lebanon's electricity supply has shut its producers.
Karpowership, a Turkish firm, states that it is allocated more than USD100m (£71m) by Lebanon and has not been paid in 18 months.
It also deals with bribery charges, which it denies, and a continuing lawful fight.
Lebanon is in a main financial and political crisis, and already undergoes normal power cuts, with a lot of people depending on private generators.
The country has not had a decided government in nine months, after the past management left in the wake of a shocking blast at Beirut's harbor.
