(MENAFN- UkrinForm)The Lithuanian government will provide 200,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine to the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries, including 100,000 doses to Ukraine.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis this on Twitter.
''The Lithuanian government just confirmed 200,000 [doses of] vaccines to EaP countries. Starting with Ukraine - 100k vaccines, Georgia - 15k and Moldova - 11k. Small step by Lithuania, hopefully our partners in Europe will join in solidarity with many more,” Landsbergis wrote.
The minister did not specify the name of the manufacturer of the vaccine or the timing of when the doses will be provided.
Earlier, at the end of February, Landsbergis said that Lithuania was ready to share with Ukraine a surplus of the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available.
The COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Ukraine began on February 24, 2021. CoviShield vaccine, developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca, Sinovac Biotech’s CoronaVac, Pfizer vaccine, SKBio vaccine created by Oxford University and AstraZeneca are registered and used in Ukraine.
