(MENAFN- UkrinForm)The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a resolution on the establishment of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine, which will counteract offenses encroaching on the functioning of the state economy.
The relevant decision was approved at a government’s off-site meeting on Wednesday, May 12, an Ukrinform correspondent repots.
According to the explanatory note, the document provides for the establishment of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine as a central executive body to counteract offenses encroaching on the functioning of the state economy. The activities of the Bureau are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers.
It is noted that the government will submit to the Verkhovna Rada proposals to amend the 2021 state budget to provide for expenditures necessary for the establishment and operation of the Bureau of Economic Security. The relevant bill will be developed by the Ministry of Finance.
As reported, on January 28, the Verkhovna Rada passed the law "On the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine." Among other things, the document provides for the transfer of the investigation of economic crimes from the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Fiscal Service and the State Bureau of Investigation to the newly created body.
