Somalia: Suicide bombing in Mogadishu leaves 6 dead, 6 wounded


(MENAFN) Police and medical sources corroborated that on Sunday night, May. 9 six persons as a minimum comprising two senior police officers lost their lives and another six were injured when a suicide bomber blasted himself at a police station in Mogadishu's Waberi district.

Ahmed Bashane, Waberi district police commander, and Abdi Basid, deputy commander of Waliyow Adde police division, are amongst those who were killed in the bombing, stated Sadik Aden Ali, Somali police spokesperson.

Ali noted: "we can confirm that the suicide bomb attack killed six people including two senior police officers, three soldiers and a neighbor and injured six others this evening so far."

The fatalities could increase since the explosion was massive and there were many citizens near the place at the time of the bombing, stated Independent sources.
