China expands autonomous subway working system


(MENAFN)According to Qingdao Metro Group, China has improved an autonomous subway working system that allows improved connectivity between trains.

Through wireless announcement, the system permits a train to obtain information such as the position and speed of the train ahead, in addition to the state of the subway line.

"With the system, it is as if the trains have been equipped with brains and sharp eyes," stated Luo Qingping, deputy chief engineer of Qingdao metro.

The system can also considerably drop the effect of tools failures on subway actions and aid cope with emergencies such as fires in a metro station and rail-side equipment failures, added Fang Shaoxuan, a specialist with China Association of Metros.
