Decline witnessed in Chinese agricultural product wholesale prices


(MENAFN) China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said that the wholesale prices of the country’s agricultural produce declined in the past week.

From April 30 to May 7, the China agricultural produce wholesale price indicator stood at 119.05, a decrease by 0.14 points weekly.

On the basis of week-on-week, the average wholesale price of pork, a principle meat in China, fell 3.1 percent, reaching 30.43 yuan (around USD4.7) per kg, and that of chicken declined 1.2 percent to about USD2.65 per kg.

The average wholesale prices of 19 main kinds of vegetables monitored by the administration remained the same as the prior week.
