Iran says 132,000 vehicles to become dual-fueled


(MENAFN)Some 132,000 public transport vehicles will become dual-fueled across the country, stated the Director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC)’s compressed natural gas (CNG) programs Mohammad-Hossein Baqeri.

The stated vehicles will turn into dual-fuel under the framework of a program inaugurated back in May last year, for the promotion of CNG consumption instead of gasoline. The program is planned at converting more than 1.46 million public vehicles into dual-fuel ones.

Till now, more than 306,000 vehicles were set in this program that only 132,000 convened the standard criteria to become dual-fuel, he further declared.

He added that about 16,400 of the registered vehicles were introduced to designated centers and are in line to be converted and 15,500 are also in line to be represented to the stated centers.
