Middle East Quartet ask Israel to avoid taking measures that raise tensions

(MENAFN)The Middle East Quartet called on Israeli authorities to use control after raids by Israeli police on Palestinians at Al-Aqsa in East Jerusalem.

In a statement, the group asked that Israel evade taking measures that would increase tensions in the holy days of Muslims.

The group is controlling situations in East Jerusalem, including the Old City and the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, stated officials of the Quartet that plans to discuss peace amid Israel and Palestine.

The officials showed concern about the challenging statements by certain political groups, rockets inaugurated at Israel from Gaza, and raids on farmland belonging to Palestinians in the West Bank, adding that they are worried about incidents that started as Palestinians and Israeli police faced off in clashes and acts of violence.
