Israeli forces’ storming of al-Aqsa mosque denounced by Iraq


(MENAFN) On Saturday, May. 8 Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced Israeli forces' storming of Jerusalem's al-Aqsa Mosque that left hundreds of Palestinians wounded.

The ministry noted in a report: "the Iraqi government condemns the Israeli forces' storming of al-Aqsa Mosque, which led to the spread of intimidation and panic among the Palestinian worshippers."

According to the report, the ministry voiced the Iraqi solidarity with the Palestinian people and called on the Israeli forces to put an end to the acts against the Palestinians.

Palestinian sources said that the fights broke out on Friday when Israeli police forces stormed the yards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and shot rubber bullets and tear gas canisters to separate dozens of protestors against Israel, wounding at least 205 Palestinian people.
