Rise witnessed in number of operating U.S. drilling rigs in past week


(MENAFN) On Friday, May. 7 the weekly figures issued by Houston-based oilfield services firm Baker Hughes showed that the number of operating drilling rigs in the United States rose eight to 448 rigs in the present week, a climb by 74 annually.

These operating drilling rigs comprised 344 oil rigs functioning in the U.S. oil fields, a climb by two from the prior week; 103 gas drilling rigs, a climb by seven from the prior week and one miscellaneous rigs, a drop by one from the past week.

The 448 rigs comprised 434 land drilling rigs, a rise by eight from the past week; one inland water rig and 13 offshore drilling rigs, both the same as the past week.

Amongst them, 408 are horizontal drilling rigs and 17 are vertical drilling rigs and 23 are directional drilling rigs.
