A music workshop was recently conducted by Music and Dance Department of Birla Public School (BPS) based on the topic of ‘Performance Preparation'. The workshop commenced with the welcome speech by Marshal D' Silva, head of Music and Dance Department. Principal A P Sharma in his address congratulated the department for conducting the workshop and expressed his views regarding benefits and importance of music in day to day life. Rajesh Pillai, vice principal, in his speech explained different co-scholastic activities taking place in the school and urged students to take maximum benefits.
The workshop was presented by music teacher Ringkhuanlung Mpamei. The workshop not only aimed to overcome the stage fear but also on better preparation and being presentable to the audience. Mpamei stressed on elimination of nervousness and anxiety on the stage and gave focus on how to build a connection between the performer and the audience which could create more impact on the audience.
Question and answer session in the end helped the students to get more clarity on the topics and how to implement them in the real life situations.
