Turkey expects Greece to improve rights for Turkish minority

(MENAFN)Turkey’s deputy foreign minister stated that no one should estimate Turkey to not react over damages of the rights of Greece’s Turkish minority.

A news conference at Turkey’s Consulate General in Komotini quoted Yavuz Selim Kiran as saying that Turkish Muslims in the Greek city of Thessaloniki are upset over the few mosques open for prayer there despite the presence of many Ottoman-era mosques.

Kiran visits areas of Greece with a large Turkish minority population like Western Thrace and Thessaloniki.

He further stated that the Turkish government discussed the lack of open mosques in its talks with Greek officials
