(MENAFN) A Pakistani army declaration noted that on Wednesday, May. 5 four soldiers lost their lives and another six were wounded in an assault by Afghan terrorists close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province.
The military's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a report that the assault occurred when Pakistan's paramilitary forces Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were involved in frontier fencing activity down the border in Zhob district of the province.
Without revealing the loss reported on the militants' side, the statement further said: "terrorists from across Afghanistan ambushed FC troops moving for fencing... FC troops responded promptly."
The report noted that the wounded soldiers were admitted to a military hospital in the provincial capital of Quetta.
