Qatar- QCB issues QR600 million treasury bills for May 2021


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) QNA Qatar Central Bank (QCB) issued yesterday treasury bills for May 2021, for three, six and nine months, with a value of QR 600 million.

QCB said in a release published on its official website that the treasury bills were distributed as follows: QR 300 million for three months at an interest rate of 0.43 percent; QR200 million for six months at an interest rate of 0.58 percent; QR100 million for nine months at an interest rate of 0.25 percent.

The issuance of the treasury bills is part of Qatar Central Banks monetary policy initiatives and its efforts to strengthen the financial system as well as to activate the tools available for the open market operations.

The issuance is also part of a series of issues executed by Qatar Central Bank on behalf of the Government of the State of Qatar and in accordance with the schedule prepared by both Qatar Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance.
