Hotels around Grand Mosque in Makkah to issue Umrah permits to guests in Ramadan


(MENAFN)Hotels around the courtyards of the Grand Mosque in Makkah were allowed to give out Umrah permits to guests in Ramadan as a plan to revitalize the holy city’s struggling hospitality sector.

In cooperation with the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is going to manage the plan via the Eatmarna and Tawakkalna apps to guarantee all necessary Coronavirus safety protocols are set.

The hotel sector in Makkah experienced a dramatic slump in business in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the measure is set to give a much-needed improvement to the industry.

Hotels were highly reliant on the Hajj and Umrah seasons, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Abdelfattah bin Sulaiman Mashat as saying, and he also wished the measures would aid to start investment in the sector.
