Taliban assault leaves 20 Afghan troops dead, military post burnt


(MENAFN)On Monday, May. 3 local officials corroborated that a number of 20 security forces lost their lives in a great Taliban assault on a military station in Afghanistan's western Farah province next to Iran.

Members of the provincial council stated that the attack was conducted by the Taliban on Sunday night in the restless Bala Bulok region.

The Taliban burnt the military station after killing the soldiers positioned there, noted Dad Ullah, a council member.

Local Salam Afghanistan radio cited a number of other local officials stating that the rebels excavated a tunnel up to this military facility to sneak in and kill the security forces in the evening.
