China: Hubei posts increasing foreign trade


(MENAFN)According to the local customs authority, central China's Hubei Province witnessed vigorous expansion in foreign trade throughout the first quarter of this year, as the province merged its revival from setbacks produced by the coronavirus outburst in 2020.

Statistics from Wuhan Customs revealed that the total import and export value hit 117.46 billion yuan (about USD18.1 billion) in the first quarter, as it increased 88.1 percent year on year.

The provincial capital of Wuhan, once hardest reached by coronavirus, witnessed its foreign trade hit 76.23 billion yuan, making up 64.9 percent of the provincial total.

The trade carried out by private enterprises reached 64.74 billion yuan, it augmented 134.9 percent year on year, making up 55.1 percent of the province's total import and export value.
