Turkey's ruling party declines Greek Cypriot stance on Cyprus issue

(MENAFN)There would not be any talks with a loom that not succeeded in recognizing Turkish Cypriots, stated Turkey's ruling party, declining the Greek Cypriot stance on the Cyprus issue.

Reporters in the capital Ankara following an assembly of the party's Central Executive Board quoted Omer Celik, spokesman for the Justice and Development (AK) Party as saying that no talks are possible with a view that avoids the Turkish Cypriots or the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and ignores their just cause.

Highlighting Greek Cypriot administration leader Nicos Anastasiades' comments that he would complain about Turkey and the TRNC to European leaders, Celik further stated that “If the EU agrees to become a plaything for the Greek Cypriot administration, good luck to them.”

The TRNC must be identified as a state that has equivalent international vision and status, Celik said.
