Iraq aims to invest USD3B in Basra Gas Company


(MENAFN)According to the Iraqi News Agency report, Iraq aims to invest USD3 billion in the Basra Gas Company in the next five years.

Reporters quoted Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbaras saying that “The aim is to increase gas production capacity by 40 percent as we seek to reach 1,400 million cubic meters of gas.”

He further stated that “Basra Gas Company is currently in an excellent situation and there is a government commitment to provide the dues.”

The company indicated that the investment plan is going to give about 2000 jobs in the construction period of the project.
