(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: Kuwait Airways has announced to reinstate its flights to London from May 5.
Kuwait has implemented strict measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Since December 20, flights were cancelled between the two countries and in April, the country implemented a strict curfew.
As the UK eases its Covid-19 restrictions and international flights are set to resume from May 17, it is hoped that the travel route will increase tourism between the two countries.
London is a popular destination for Kuwaitis during the summer and Kuwait is not on the UK’s red list. British Airways is also scheduled to resume flights between the two countries from June 3.
Currently all non-Kuwaiti passengers are forbidden from entering Kuwait. Exceptions include first-degree relatives of Kuwaitis, domestic workers sponsored by Kuwaiti nationals and diplomats.
All passengers arriving to Kuwait must undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine, seven days at a locally approved hotel at their own cost and the final seven days at home. Passengers must also present proof that they have pre-booked their hotel quarantine when checking in.
Kuwaitis that are vaccinated are exempt from quarantining and must quarantine seven days at home and a Covid-19 PCR test must be carried out on the seventh day from the arrival date.
