Turkey's banks see net profit of USD1.9B billion


(MENAFN)The country's banking watchdog stated that Turkey's banks witnessed a net profit of 16 billion Turkish liras (USD1.9 billion) this January to March.

According to the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) data, the number increased from 15.3 billion Turkish liras (USD2.3 billion) in the same time span last year.

Total assets of the banks stood at 6.5 trillion Turkish liras (USD786.7 billion) as of end-March, increased 33 percent from 2020.

The largest sub-category of assets increased 30 percent to about 3.8 trillion Turkish liras (USD458.1 billion) in the same period.
