Libya’s PM pays visit to power plant venture in western Tripoli

(MENAFN) On Saturday, May. 1 Libya’s Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah paid a visit to a power plant in western Tripoli, demanding increased attempts to guarantee power supply in the war-ravaged nation.

A report released by the prime minister's information office stated that in a meeting with officials of the General Electricity Company, the prime minister called on the state-owned firm to try hard to stabilize the public power network and avoid any serious power shutdowns, promising to offer all possible support for the firm.

Dbeibah was informed by engineers regarding the phases and timetable of the building of the plant, of which four units would produce 670 megawatts, said the report.

The country has been undergoing regular daily power shutdowns because of years of armed conflict and instability.
