FIFA announces match schedule for FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) QNA Doha: FIFA has revealed the fixtures and dates of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, to be held between November 30 and December 18.

The tournament draw resulted in Qatar at the top of Group A with Iraq, the winner from Oman and Somalia and the winner from Bahrain and Kuwait matches.

Hosts Qatar will open the tournament on November 30, facing the winner of the Bahrain-Kuwait match in the qualifiers, at 1 pm Doha time, and Iraq will play in the same round with the winner from Oman and Somalia.

Then, in the second round, the Qatari team will face the winner from Oman and Somalia on December 3 at 4 pm Doha time, while Iraq will play with the winner from Bahrain and Kuwait. In the last round, Qatar will meet Iraqi counterpart at 10 pm on December 6. While the winner from Kuwait and Bahrain will play in the same round with the winner from Oman and Somalia.

In group B, Tunisia will meet the winner from Yemen and Mauritania match, and the UAE will meet Syria in the first round on November 30, while Tunisia will meet with Syria, and the UAE will meet the winner from Yemen and Mauritania in the second round on December 3. Tunisia will face the UAE, and Syria meet with the winner from Yemen and Mauritania in the third round on December 6.

As for group C, Morocco will meet the winner from Palestine and Comoros, and Saudi Arabia with the winner from Jordan and South Sudan in the first round on December 1, while Morocco will meet the winner from Jordan and South Sudan, and Saudi Arabia will meet the winner from Palestine and Comoros in the second round on December 4. Morocco will play Saudi Arabia, and the winner from Jordan and South Sudan will meet the winner from Palestine and Comoros in the third round on December 7.

In Group D, Algeria will meet the winner from Libya and Sudan, and Egypt will meet the winner from Lebanon and Djibouti in the first round on December 1, while Algeria will meet the winner from Lebanon and Djibouti, and Egypt will meet the winner from Libya and Sudan in the second round on December 4, while Algeria will meet Egypt, and the winner from Libya and Sudan will meet the winner from Lebanon and Djibouti in the third round on December 7.

From each group in the first and second teams, winners will qualify. The first of group A will face the second of the group B, and the first of B group with the second group of Group A, and the first of group C will play with the second of group D, and the first of group D will play with the second of group C.

The tournament will be held at six of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums which will be revealed later.

The FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 will be held around the same period as the 2022 World Cup, which will provide an opportunity for the 2022 World Cup organizers to test the readiness of the operational processes and facilities for the tournament, ahead of Qatar hosting the first edition of the World Cup in the Arab world.
