Morocco calls Spanish emissary to Rabat

(MENAFN) On Sunday, Apr. 25 Morocco declared it called the Spanish emissary to Rabat as an objection against Madrid's reception of a militia leader.

Morocco's Foreign Ministry noted in a report that it asked the Spanish Ambassador to Rabat Ricardo Diez-Hochleitner to give explanation over the reception of Polisario Front leader Brahim Ghali.

Moroccan and Spanish media said in a report that Ghali was received in Spain for medical care for COVID-19.

The ministry voiced dissatisfaction, noting: "Spain is hosting a leader of a separatist militia (Polisario) who is accused of war crimes and grave violations to human rights," describing this as "contrary to the spirit of partnership and good neighborliness."
