The first batch of 36,000 doses of the vaccine, through the Covax mechanism of the World Health Organization, arrived in the country on April 16.
Health Minister Luis Francisco Sucre - who also attended the start of the vaccination day said that on Wednesday, a note was sent to accept some 70,000 additional doses, which will arrive between three weeks and a month.

Among the first was Rafael Sabonge, Minister of Public Works. Ramón Martínez, Minister of Commerce and Industries, Carlos Aguilar, Minister of Culture; José Alejandro Rojas, Minister Counselor for private investment; as well as the Vice of Agricultural Affairs, Carlos Rognoni.
Also in attendance were Bernardo Meneses, director of the Institute for the Training and Use of Human Resources; Juan Antonio Ducruet, director of the Idaan; and Armando Fuentes, director of the Public Services Authority.
