Qatar- 381 face prosecution for violation of Covid norms


(MENAFN - Gulf Times) The designated authorities referred 381 people to the Public Prosecution, for violating the preventive and precautionary measures enforced in the country to contain the spread of Covid-19, the Ministry of Interior reported Thursday. Among them, 322 people were referred to the Public Prosecution for not wearing masks in places where these are mandatory, while one person was found violating the vehicle occupancy rule. Under this rule, a maximum of four persons are allowed in a vehicle, including the driver, except when they are members of the same family.
Also, 56 people were referred to the prosecution for not maintaining safe physical distancing, and two persons for not installing the Ehteraz app.
The measure is in line with the Cabinet decision, Decree Law No 17 of 1990 on infectious diseases, and the precautionary measures in force in the country to contain the spread of Covid-19.
