SW Pakistani fire claims 4 lives, injures dozens

(MENAFN) A local official said in a statement that more than four people were confirmed dead and a dozen wounded Wednesday in an explosion in the parking area of a five-star hotel in southwestern Pakistan.

Footage aired on local broadcaster Dawn News showed broken glass and pieces of metal distributed at the site, as the explosion in Quetta city also damaged many vehicles.

Columns of fire and smoke billowed into the air as rescue staffs were seen placing the wounded and dead bodies on stretchers and moving them to ambulances.

Deputy Commissioner Aurungzeb Badini tweeted that the fire triggered by the explosion has been put out.
