(MENAFN)Afghanistan's Ministry of Defense stated that several operations led by Afghan government forces in the past 24 hours killed more than 78 Taliban militants.
The ministry further declared in a statement that "Forty-four Taliban militants were also wounded and eight others were arrested as a result of Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) operations in Ghazni, Zabul, Herat, Paktika, Balkh, Nimroz, Helmand and Kandahar provinces."
It added that the ANDSF also discovered and detained weapons and alleviated 36 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and landmines in the stated era.
The declaration did not mention if there are any casualties of the Afghan security forces,
