Jordan- Agreement signed to support healthcare services for women


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Centre (KHCC) has signed an agreement with Mary-Ann Etiebet, the executive director of MSD for Mothers initiative, to provide a grant to the KHCF to support the provision of healthcare services for women in Jordan.

The grant, the first of its kind in the region, signed during a teleconference meeting, will fund KHCF's Jordan Breast Cancer Programme (JBCP) activities, including promoting early detection and outreach campaigns to raise public awareness and knowledge of breast cancer, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The grant will also support improvements to the quality of services provided to women, especially pregnant women and new mothers.

Princess Ghida expressed her appreciation of the initiative, voicing pride in the partnership with MSD for Mothers, which "will boost efforts dedicated to raising the level of healthcare provided to women in Jordan."

Etiebet highlighted the positive impact the initiative will have on women's healthcare, describing the grant to the KHCF as "an opportunity to step up the level of healthcare and preventative care provided to women in Jordan through a patient-centric approach, especially early screening services provided to pregnant women and new mothers."

For his part, the Regional President for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa at MSD Renan Ozyerli said: "At MSD, we believe access to healthcare can only be successfully achieved through partnership, and this collaboration with the KHCF is extremely important because it will help to provide access to health to many women in Jordan who need it."

The virtual meeting was attended by the Managing Director of MSD Levant Sandra Khoury, Director of Policy, Communication and Patient Engagement at MSD Levant Hassan Bibi, KHCC Director General Asem Mansour and KHCF Director General Nisreen Qatamish.
