7 Palestinians arrested by Israeli police in Jerusalem

(MENAFN) According to a statement issued Monday by Israeli police, seven Palestinian people were arrested in occupied East Jerusalem.

As per the statement, "Five suspects were arrested last night in the Bab al-Amud area for interrogation on charges of throwing stones and assaulting policemen."

The police further confirmed that two Palestinian youths were also arrested on Monday over suspicion of attacking an Israeli soldier in the same region.

Israeli police enforced Palestinians to leave the Bab al-Amud area, one of the gates to Jerusalem’s Old City, over the past six successive days, prompting clashes between Palestinian youths and police forces.
