(MENAFN) According to Vietnam News Agency, four students perished while swimming at a beach in central Vietnam's Khanh Hoa province.
On Sunday afternoon, the victims, who were part of a greater student group from a local school in Khanh Hoa's Cam Ranh city, went to the beach for a swim. According to public officials, they were pushed aside by the strong waves and sunk in deep water.
As of Monday morning, the bodies of the victims had been discovered. According to the report, sinking incidents occur in the area on a yearly basis, so the municipality has installed several red flags all along shoreline to keep people alert.
