Latest intensifying clashes in Yemen's Marib displace 24k people

(MENAFN)
At least 24,000 people were evacuated by the fresh intensifying clashes in the Yemen's oil-rich province of Marib, the national government announced on Sunday.

The latest upsurge of growing combat in Marib displaced over 24,000 people over the period between Feb. 6 and April 16 this year, the Yemeni government agency that runs the emigrant camps said in a statement.

The statement further included that the recently displaced people are struggling against tough living circumstances, together with lack of shelter, food, drinking water and medicine supplies.

The agency appealed to the United Nations and the international community to exert political pressure on the Houthi forces to stop their attacks against Marib.
