Israel plans to decrease 80 percent of greenhouse gas releases


(MENAFN)The Israeli Ministry of Energy on Sunday, April 18, declared that a nationwide arrangement which comprises a major target of decreasing 80 percent of greenhouse gas releases in the Israeli financial system by 2050.

The arrangement also plans to close all coal-fired power plants by 2025, decrease greenhouse gas releases in the electricity sector by 75 to 85 percent by 2050, augment electricity generation from renewable energy (mostly from solar energy), and develop the energy expenditure per unit of produce by 1.3 percent every year.

To attain the goals, the agenda comprises the improvement of innovative technologies, enhancements in the power network, and changes in energy use by households, transition to electric cars, and more.

The arrangement adopts Israel's electricity, transportation, industrial and natural gas economies, in addition to regional infrastructure setting up and cooperation.
