South Korea offers temporary stay permits to unlawful refugee children


(MENAFN) South Korea's justice ministry stated on Monday, April 19, that it will give provisional stay permits to unlawful immigrant children who was born and have lived here for no less than 15 years.

To get the stay permits, the undocumented children are necessary to have graduated from primary school before Feb. 28, 2021 and have lived here for more than 15 years.

Secondary school students will be offered the D-4 visa to let them live here until graduation. Those who already graduated from high school can get the G-1 visa to stay here for one year to prepare for college entrance and job application.

The parents of the unlawful immigrant children will be permitted to live here until the kids become adults.
