China: Power utilization increases


(MENAFN)Statistics from China's top financial schemer revealed on Monday, April 19, that China's electricity expenditure, a key barometer of financial activity, increased 21.2 percent in the first quarter of this year as the country's economy continued to resume expansion.

According to the National Development and Reform Commission, power use in the main and secondary sectors correspondingly increased 26.4 percent and 24.1 percent year on year, and power use in the tertiary industry augmented 28.2 percent from a year ago.

Residential power expenditure reported a 4.7 percent yearly upsurge in the first three months.
