Demonstration against police violence arranged in U.S. Oakland


(MENAFN) Early on Saturday, Apr. 17 a police report said that hundreds of people on Friday evening walked through downtown Oakland, U.S. state of California, to protest against lethal police gunfire in Minneapolis and Chicago.

Oakland's police department tweeted: "The City of Oakland experienced disruptive protests in the Downtown area."

The police said in a report that some demonstrators attacked a community member and an officer, smashed windows, spray-painted buildings, set a vehicle ablaze together with several debris fires.

The police said that the number of protestors is between 250 and 300 participants. In spite of the damage, police did not release citations no detained anyone.
