Kuwait registers eight COVID-19 fatalities, 1,406 infections


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, April 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ministry of Health on Friday registered eight new COVID-19 fatalities and 1,406 new infections in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry's spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA that the death toll increased to 1,436 total fatalities, and the infections caseload to 254,472 since the beginning of the pandemic.
He added that 1,283 patients have recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours to reach 237,667 recoveries, which make the ratio of recoveries 93.40 percent from total conducted tests.
The spokesman pointed out that 247 new patients were sent to the intensive care units, to increase the number of patients who are receiving health care to 15,369 patients.
Moreover, in the past 24 hours 9,260 tests were conducted to make the total conducted tests reach 2,205,047 tests, which make the ratio of infections 15.18 percent, he added.
Al-Sanad called on the public to maintain social distancing, and to abide with all health regulations that would help in stopping the virus spread. (Pickup previous) mrv.mys
