Retiring Turkish official pays official visit to Baghdad


(MENAFN) Turkey's envoy to Baghdad, who is at the end of his term, paid on Wednesday a visit to Iraq, with the prime minister of the latter country welcomed him.

According to a statement by the Prime Ministry's Press Office, Mustafa al-Kadhimi and Turkish ambassador Fatih Yildiz talked about two-sided ties and means to enhance harmony and collaboration between the two nations corresponding to common welfares.

The Iraqi official said that his country is looking forward to launch balanced dealings with bordering nations and is determined for security and stability in the region.

Turkey designated Ambassador Ali Riza Guney to replace Yildiz, who had held the post since 2017.
