Drop observed in U.S. crude oil stockpiles last week


(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Apr. 14 the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that U.S. crude oil stockpiles dropped in the week concluding April 9.

U.S. commercial crude oil stockpiles, ruling out those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, dropped by 5.9 million barrels from the prior week, showed the Weekly Petroleum Status Report.

At 492.4 million barrels, U.S. crude oil stockpiles were around 1 percent over the five-year average for this time of year.

Overall motor gasoline stockpiles rose 0.3 million barrels in the past week and were less by 2 percent from the five-year average for this time of year, said the EIA. Finished gasoline stockpiles rose while blending components stockpiles dropped in the past week.
