(MENAFN)The Iranian president called Iraq a good friend and neighbor, stating that Tehran and Baghdad can represent a significant role in regional developments.
The US attendance in Iraq did not help calm the region, Rouhani stated during a telephone conversation with Iraqi President Barham Salih.
Rouhani congratulated the government and people of the neighboring Muslim country on the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
He further highlighted the Islamic Republic's support for stability, security, independence and territorial integrity in Iraq.
