(MENAFN- NewsBytes) The Rajasthan government on Wednesday announced a 12-hour night curfew across all cities.
The move is aimed at combating the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
The curfew will be effective from 6 pm to 6 am on all days starting Friday until the end of the month.
The state government has also introduced other precautionary measures as the COVID-19 situation worsens.

According to the latest order, the curfew will be imposed from 6 pm-6 am as opposed to the earlier timings of 8 pm-6 am. Other measures include the closure of markets by 5 pm. All educational and coaching institutions will be shut. Factories and bus stands are exempted.
The limit for the number of guests at weddings has been reduced from 100 to 50.
Outbreak Rajasthan reported record spike today
Rajasthan on Wednesday reported the biggest single-day spike of 6,200 fresh infections and 29 more fatalities. State capital Jaipur reported the highest number of fresh cases at 1,325.
The total caseload in the state has now climbed to 3,81,292 (including 44,905 active cases), while the death toll reached 3,008.
The seven-day average of new cases has reached an all-time high of over 4,000.
Information Rajasthan flags vaccine shortage The state government has notably flagged the concern of depleting vaccine stocks. Last week, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard. Earlier in the day, the Rajasthan government had suspended state board exams for Classes X and XII. Students of Classes VIII to X will be promoted to the next year. The announcement came the same day that the central government postponed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class XII board examinations and suspended the exams for Class X.
