Turkey: Retail sales quantity increases 4.6 percent


(MENAFN)Turkey’s retail sales quantity with steady prices increased 4.6 percent year-on-year in February, according to official numbers issued on Tuesday, April 13.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) stated that sales of food, drink, and tobacco augmented 8.1 percent throughout the month.
Non-food -- except automotive oil sales augmented 4 percent, while automotive fuel sales saw an increase of 0.8 percent.
The latest numbers revealed that along with non-food things, sales of computers, books, and telecommunications equipment increased 12.6 percent, while electronic supplies and furniture sales increased 8.9 percent.
Sales of textile, clothing, and footwear dropped 14.8 percent, with a decline of 2.4 percent in sales of medical supplies and cosmetics.
