Turkey's exports of fresh fruits, vegetables in 2021 stand at USD774.5M


(MENAFN)According to the head of a sectoral association, Turkey's exports of fresh fruits and vegetables in the first three months of the year stood at USD774.5 million.

Exports by the sector improved 22 percent in comparison to the previous year same time span, stated Nejdat Sin, head of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters' Association.

He further declared that the sector's export rate stood at USD2.73 billion with an increase of 21 percent for last year, adding that "These figures are the result of an efficient, qualified and safe production process."

Russia is considered the top importer of the Turkish fresh fruits and vegetables, buying USD229 million value of produce, followed by Iraq and Romania with USD76 million and USD69.2 million.
